FireID Wins 2009 Frost & Sullivan Product Innovation Award for Mobile Two Factor Authentication

FireID had recently been awarded for its innovative authentication solution.
This innovation changes the mobile into a security token that can provide one-time
passwords. It does not need any cellular connectivity. This new solution provides
advantages for customers and companies as it considerably reduces hardware costs.
FireID came to this innovation considering that people were always carrying their
mobile as a result it represented the best tool for authentication. Frost &
Sullivan considers that the value provided by this solution is significant: it
can be used for online shopping, social networks, servers…

The mobile penetration rate in developed countries is very high: for instance, in Europe, penetration has surpassed the 100% mark. The mobile is not only a device used to call; it is also used to access the Internet, to listen to music, to replace a USB stick… This device represents a real opportunity for development and innovation. As the penetration rate is very high, the adoption rate of this technology is also very high, and obviously, it is easier to develop or innovate around a product which is already adopted by the targets. If we take into account the innovation adoption curve by Rogers, this strategy is less risky and more profitable.![]()
